Council for a Strong America invites you to a briefing on Capitol Hill: Caring for the Youngest Victims of Our Nation’s Opioid Crisis.

Council for a Strong America is excited to present this briefing in conjunction with the Bipartisan Heroin Task Force co-chairs Representative Tom MacArthur (R-NJ) and Representative Ann Kuster (D-NH).

Where: Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2168

When: Wednesday, June 27, 2018 2:00-3:00 PM

Who:

  • ReadyNation member Leah Curry, President, Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia, Inc., West Virginia
  • Fight Crime: Invest in Kids member Ted Smith, Chief of Police, Lincoln, New Hampshire
  • Julie Redding, Clinical Director, Community Caring Collaborative, Washington County, Maine

  • Moderator: The Honorable Mary Bono, Former U.S. Representative, California (1998-2013)

Why: The opioid epidemic has seriously compromised the strength of our nation: threatening public safety, impacting the workforce, and tearing families apart. Parental substance abuse is a significant Adverse Childhood Experience that can impact a child’s health and wellbeing throughout life. High-quality early care and education programs can offer a powerful approach to helping children impacted by the opioid crisis.

Join this convening of powerful voices from the business, law enforcement, and early childhood communities.

RSVP by sending an email.
