State Director, California, Mission: Readiness & National Director, Operations
Jake Ferreira is the State Director for Mission: Readiness in California, where he focuses on investments in early childhood education, expanded learning programs, and healthy initiatives where youth live, learn and play.
Jake has established and led numerous innovative alliances with school districts, universities, businesses, and health advocacy organizations that improve nutrition, increase physical activity, promote access to safe drinking water, and highlight active transportation programs in schools and communities.
As a Commander (Select) in the United States Coast Guard, he has completed multiple tours of duty and deployed for response operations across the United States and internationally as a member of the United States delegation for the Arctic Coast Guard Forum. He currently serves as an Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer (EPLO) in the First Coast Guard District.
Jake is an Advisory Board member for the National Drinking Water Alliance and Co-founder of Hope Strengthens Foundation, a volunteer-led public charity that provides critical financial support to individuals and families facing life threatening illness or recovering from traumatic injuries.
Jake is a graduate of the United States Coast Guard Officer Candidate School. He holds both an M.S. in Leadership and a B.S. in Business Administration from Northeastern University. Jake and wife Julia, a high school administrator, are the proud parents of Cruz.
