Low-Income Families Need Access to Quality Pre-K

Pastor Matt McCue authors article in support of Mississippi's Early Learning Collaborative program

Pastor Matt McCue is the pastor of One Church in Ridgeland, MS, and member of Shepherding the Next Generation. In this op-ed for the Clarion Ledger, the pastor supports access to early education, specifically Mississippi’s Early Learning Collaborative program, which was created through bipartisan legislation in 2013. Research shows that children who attended these early education programs were 1.5 times more likely to be proficient in reading by the third grade. Giving vulnerable children a leg up toward success in school is the moral and smart thing to do, with proven impact on that success.
