Building a stronger economy and military by investing the Sunshine State's youngest citizens

Florida has one of the lowest student achievement rates in the nation, threatening the state's economic prosperity into the future. Unexpectedly, poor education also affects military readiness in Florida―disqualifying 7 in 10 young Floridians from serving their country. Our members are working to improve academic achievement in the Sunshine State as a way to grow the economy and improve military eligibility. In 2016, our members successfully fought for quality child care by expanding the School Readiness Program amidst Florida’s struggle to pass a state budget.
