Strengthening the workforce and reducing crime through early education
New Jersey is in better financial shape after setbacks from Hurricane Sandy and the Atlantic City economy. Legislators passed a bipartisan budget in 2016, helping to further stabilize New Jersey’s economy. However, state leaders passed up a $25 million investment in New Jersey’s pre-K program, lauded as one of the nation’s best. Our law enforcement leaders and business executives in New Jersey are working to make pre-K a top priority, educating lawmakers about the research showing that high-quality pre-K for low-income children can lead to a stronger future workforce and less crime.
