John Pepper: The Business Case for Early Childhood Investments

The former Chairman and CEO of P&G states how access to quality preK keeps America competitive in the global economy

Former Chairman and CEO of Procter & Gamble and ReadyNation CEO Task Force CoChairman, John Pepper, presented a speech at the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) 100th convention in Cincinnati, and wrote an oped based on his remarks in the ACCE’s Chamber Executive. Pepper described the research backing quality early childhood education and why business leaders should be concerned about the current status of early childhood education in the United States.

Other developed countries provide 90% or more of their 4 year olds with quality pre-K, while the US covers less than half. Other countries get it, and we had better get it, too.
