Bob Kowalski

Chief of Police, Edgerton, WI

Chief Bob Kowalski has been in law enforcement for over 43 years. He started his career as a patrolman with the Village of Forest Park, Illinois before being selected as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). After completing his FBI training in Quantico, Virginia, he was assigned to various FBI offices in Indiana and Illinois. Following a successful career as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special, he retired from the FBI in 2010. He then worked as the National Director of Security for the Career Education Corporation, as Chief of Security with the DuPage County Department of Homeland Security, and as Director of Public Safety and Security for the Cook County Health and Hospital System. At Cook County Health, he was tasked with leading two separate police departments and two security contract services, as well as reestablishing his police commission in the State of Illinois.

In 2015, Chief Kowalski was selected as the Chief of Police in Sauk Village, Illinois, and in 2019, Chief Kowalski became Chief of Police for the Edgerton Police Department in Wisconsin. Chief Kowalski’s time in law enforcement has been a blessing and humbling experience, and he will continue to serve the community and his fellow officers with a positive attitude to make sure that wherever he’s at is a better place for everyone.
