C. D. Smith
Regional Director, AT&T Mississippi
C. D. Smith is a Regional Director for AT&T Mississippi. In this capacity, he has oversight of AT&T matters for 34 counties spanning Central and Southern Mississippi. Additionally, he interfaces with the Mississippi Public Service Commission on behalf of AT&T.
Smith recently completed a 10-year term on the Mississippi Public Universities Board of Trustees. He is chairman of the board of directors for The Montgomery Institute, vice chairman of the Board of Trustees for Meridian Community College, and chairman of the board of directors for the Meridian Community College Foundation. He also serves on the Board of Commissioners for Weems Mental Health Center, and the Advisory Board for Trustmark Bank. Additionally, he serves on the board of governors for the Mississippi Economic Council.
Smith served 39 years in the Mississippi Air National Guard, is a member of the Meridian Rotary Club, and attends NorthPark Church. Smith is the recipient of the Liberty Bell Award from the Bar Association of Lauderdale County, the Service to Mankind Award from the Mississippi District of Sertoma, the Citizen of the Year award from The Meridian Star, and has been recognized with the 2012 MSU-Meridian Alumnus of the Year Award.
Smith has a bachelor’s degree in business and industry and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA), both from Mississippi State University. He previously served on the national board of directors of the MSU Alumni Association.
Smith is married to the former Linda Joyce Bishop and has three children: Cynthia, Drew, and Danielle, along with three grandchildren, Katelynn, Drew, and Jasper.
