Christie Vance is the Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer at Mississippi Methodist Senior Services, Inc. (MSS) based in Tupelo, MS. For more than 60 years, MSS has provided comfortable, affordable housing and services to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of older adults across Mississippi. MSS is a recognized leader in elder housing and care services offering options such as the villas and apartments for older adults, personal care/assisted living, memory support neighborhoods, and skilled nursing care. In 2003, Methodist Senior Services built the nation’s first Green House® Homes in Tupelo – an innovative approach to long-term care. Since then, more than 360 Green House® Homes have been constructed across the world by various providers. Methodist Senior Services continually works to enrich the lives of approximately 1,400 elders and 1,000 employees who live on its 12 campuses.

Christie joined the MSS team in 1999 serving first as Director of Accounting, and then as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. She was promoted to her current role in March 2020. Prior to joining MSS, Christie was an accountant with Watkins, Ward, and Stafford CPA, and worked on the MSS audit for four years. Her exposure to MSS’ culture of Christian service convinced her it was the perfect place for her.

Through her 20 plus years of leadership at Methodist Senior Services, Christie has been directly responsible for ensuring the financial stability of the organization and uncovering ways to grow the mission to serve elders in Mississippi. Christie has a profound commitment to serving the MSS mission and vision while focusing on the organization’s culture and values. Her unique blend of financial knowledge, leadership development talents, and operations experience provide a balanced approach to championing all aspects of community operations.

Christie received her Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi. She and her family live in Calhoun County where she serves on the Calhoun County School Board, College Hill Baptist Church finance and nominating committees, New Century Club, and Calhoun City High School Softball Booster Club.
