Dr. Laura L.V. King

Dr. Laura L.V. King began her career in law enforcement in 1996 as a patrol officer, rising through the ranks and experiencing a plethora of jobs within law enforcement. Through these different roles, Dr. King has grown to understand the importance of community-based programs that provide children with the tools and resources they need to succeed. This understanding is why Dr. King joined Fight Crime: Invest in Kids in 2021 and why she stays engaged with our mission. Though a new member, Dr. King joined with nearly 150 of her peers in the state of Illinois to urge the state policymakers to increase funding for evidence-based early childhood programs that reduce crime.
