Joey F. Garner

President and CEO, TEC

Joey F. Garner is TEC’s President and CEO, with over thirty years of dedication to her company. TEC, based in Jackson, MS, is a privately held communications company that provides broadband internet connections to residential and business customers throughout Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Georgia.

Joey has worked in many roles at TEC throughout the years, including Marketing, Human Resources, and Sales. Today she provides vision and guidance for the company as TEC expands its fiber footprint, products, and services to an increasing area in the southeast. She leads the company in its efforts to connect people in rural America through fiber-to-the-home construction. She also drives the company’s focus on providing communication and security solutions to businesses.

She serves on the Board of Trustees for William Carey University and holds the honor of Communication’s Chair of the Mississippi Forum of the International Women’s Forum. She is Secretary of the Rotary Club in her hometown of Bay Springs. She is a former Director of the Telecommunications Association of the Southeast and has been recognized as the Top Businesswoman and a Top CEO by the Mississippi Business Journal. Joey graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Giving back is important to Joey, and she has taken steps to ensure that TEC continually supports communities through partnering with organizations like Stewpot, Operation Shoestring, the Good Samaritan Center, and Little Lighthouse. Local markets also participate in Chambers of Commerce, Rotary, and other organizations.

Joey is married to James Garner, and they have three children: Jessica, a graduate of Middlebury College and Bristol University; Joseph Garner, a graduate of Mississippi State University pursuing an MBA from MSU; and John Garner, also a graduate of Mississippi State University who is pursuing an MBA from MSU. Joey and her family are members of Broadmoor Baptist Church.
