Joyce E. Dudley

District Attorney, Santa Barbara County

Joyce E. Dudley served for 20 years as a Deputy District Attorney with the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office, specializing in prosecuting violent crimes against vulnerable victims. In 2010 she was elected District Attorney, and in 2011 she became a member of Fight Crime: Invest in Kids. DA Dudley currently serves as the Chair of the Police Officers Standards and Training Commission (POST), and also serves on the Executive Board of Fight Crime Invest in Kids. DA Dudley also works closely with the national organization, Prosecutors Against Gun Violence.

DA Dudley is one of 58 elected district attorney’s across California that is responsible for the prosecution of criminal violations of state law and county ordinances occurring within a county. Elected district attorneys serve four-year terms and are eligible for reelection.
