Lisa Willis

WNBA: LA Sparks, New York Liberty

  • WNBA First Round Draft Choice (LA Sparks, 2006)
  • NCAA All-American Team (UCLA, 2006)
  • Team USA Gold Medal (2005)

Lisa Willis started playing basketball as a child it was fun, but her passion for the game grew quickly. From an early age, she carefully studied players’ games and team strategies, crafting her own workouts and engaging with trainers early. Because of her dedication and commitment—and early start—she excelled to achieve success and excellence in the game she loved.

Willis attended her dream school, UCLA, and excelled as a student. On the court, she was a record book leader in three-point shooting, scoring, defense, and rebounding. She represented her country as a Team USA member in 2005 international play, contributing to a gold medal performance as the top three-point shooter and fourth leading scorer. In 2006, as an NCAA All American, Willis was selected fifth overall in the WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks and later joined the New York Liberty.

Capitalizing on her own commitment to excellence, Willis now focuses on helping youth advance their own success on and off the court through her mentoring and skills development work at Think. Work. Play! Her goal is to teach players how to reach their full potential through hoops.
