Nancy S. Fishman

Senior Advisor

Nancy Fishman started at ReadyNation in 2015 and, as National Director, jointly leads this national business leader network of more than 2,000 cross-sector executives. Since 2006, ReadyNation has supported its members to encourage increased public investments in education (from “cradle to career”). Our core work promotes public policies and programs that build a stronger workforce and economy through smart investments in children and youth.

Nancy educates and informs executives, key policymakers, and other community stakeholders on education issues at the state and federal level as critical workforce and economic development concerns. Nancy is a frequent keynote and panel speaker at local, state and national events on how business leaders can use their time, influence and voice to promote policies that strengthen the workforce and economy.

Prior to joining ReadyNation, Nancy was the State Director of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Early Learning Investment Commission. The Commission, composed of 75 senior-level business executives across the commonwealth, supports public investment in high-quality early care and education as a workforce and economic development strategy. Previously, Nancy was the Director of Success By 6, the early childhood initiative of the United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

Nancy was elected as a school director for Carlisle Area School District (PA) in 2003 and served for 12 years including seven years as the school board president. She previously served on several nonprofit boards of directors as well. Nancy received her B.A. in policy and management studies from Dickinson College and a M.S. in psychology from Shippensburg University.
