Travis L. Patten

Sheriff, Adams County, MS

On January 5, 2016, Travis L. Patten was sworn in as the youngest Sheriff in history of Adams County, and the first African American Sheriff since Reconstruction. Before beginning his career in law enforcement, Sheriff Patten served in the United States Navy. He then worked with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department and the Natchez Police Department. In addition to his service in military and law enforcement, he served and led at Integrity Mortgage, LLC and Vision Development, LLC, and held the lay position of Deacon in New Hope M.B. Church. Sheriff Patten was awarded the Medgar Evers Freedom Award by the Natchez, MS branch of the NAACP.
