DeAnna Duncan Grand Named as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development

With more than 26 years of experience in nonprofit administration and development, Grand brings significant knowledge of and experience in education and youth development policy to the role.

Washington, D.C. (September 15, 2020) — Council for A Strong America (CSA) is excited to announce it has named DeAnna Duncan Grand Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development. With more than 26 years of experience in nonprofit administration and development, Grand brings significant knowledge of and experience in education and youth development policy to the role.

As we adapt to address the myriad of challenges of these unprecedented times, DeAnna will play a crucial role in helping us build our capacity and impact.”

Prior to joining CSA, Grand served as the Director of Development/Policy Analyst at the Learning Policy Institute. Grand has also worked with a wide array of organizations, including the NEA Foundation, America’s Promise Alliance, Association of Science-Technology Centers, Duke Ellington School for the Arts, Source Theatre Company, and the Fairfax Symphony. Throughout her career, she has co-authored several reports, including New Tech Network: Driving Systems Change and Equity Through Project-Based Learning in Public Schools and Teaching the Way Students Learn Best: Lessons from Bronxdale High School.

Grand holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a doctorate degree in education policy and practice from the University of Maryland.
