Building Postsecondary Pathways Today for the Economy of Tomorrow

Investments in high-quality career-technical education and postsecondary learning will build the skilled workforce that Florida

Florida’s labor market faces a looming gap in talent that must be filled by our current generation. By 2030, Florida is aiming to have 60 percent of its residents equipped with a high-quality postsecondary degree, certificate, or credential of value. Today, however, this number is just above half, which places Florida behind 19 other states. To secure our future economy, we must equip Floridians today with the skills and credentials they need to compete in the workforce tomorrow. Pathways to and through postsecondary education will help ensure that we achieve and surpass this goal, so that Florida’s economy thrives in the future.
