Deeper Learning

In a rapidly changing world, young people entering college, the workforce, or the military need more than a mastery of core academic subjects. Known as “deeper learning,” the broader abilities to learn, collaborate, communicate, problem-solve, and persevere through challenges are critically important. State and federal policymakers are working to update our nation’s education system to meet those needs: setting rigorous standards for learning and emphasizing the need for new, practical approaches to high school education. Council for a Strong America educates lawmakers about the importance of investments in our education system that teach students the skills and knowledge that they need to compete in today’s workforce, and qualify for military service should they choose to serve.
