Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, ReadyNation, and Mission: Readiness members hold virtual read aloud storytimes in honor of National Reading Month
In celebration of Women’s History Month and National Reading Month in March, we launched a fun new mini-series titled “Read Aloud Storytime with Friends” where we invited some of our members and other friends to share their favorite stories with us. We know significant brain development occurs in the first five years of life, and research shows exposure to activities such as early reading are essential to a child’s development. With these videos, we aim to promote early literacy, help foster young children’s love of reading, and engage our members in advocacy efforts on early childhood care and education this legislative session.
Investments in California’s early education system are necessary to support our future generation’s academic success, and together, we can start with a book!
