PE Isn’t Just A Course In School; It’s An Opportunity

Olympic gold medalist Shannon Miller co-authors an op-ed on the importance of physical education in schools

Champions for America’s Future member and Olympic gold medalist Shannon Miller teamed up with American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown that made a powerful case for the importance of quality physical education programs in schools.

Published in the Huffington Post, Brown and Miller explained the necessity of physical activity for kids. Miller also drew upon her personal experiences growing up with physical education, including the difference it made in her young life as a budding gymnast. The piece explained why physical education and getting children to be active is an imperative for the health and well-being of our nation.
