An Accurate Census Strengthens Families

Effective allocation of resources enables disadvantaged families to stay on their feet

The census has Biblical roots and remains relevant in the lives of today’s Christians. As we care for our neighbors, the poor, widows and children, information from the census helps us do our Christian duty.

Numerous programs for low-income children and families are administered using census data. Without accurate census data, funds for these programs will not be allocated properly and disadvantaged families will not get the assistance they need.

Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, every male, head by head.

Numbers 1:2

Church leaders have an important role to play in advocating for adequate funding for the census and encouraging their flock to complete their census forms.
