Mike Brown

Chief Mike Brown has served in the Salt Lake City Police Department since 1991. He was appointed Chief of Police on May 3, 2016, and prior to that was the Interim Police Chief, appointed on June 11, 2015. Chief Brown serves on the Major Cities Chiefs Associations Executive Board and holds a B.S. in General Studies from Columbia College.
Chief Brown became a member of Fight Crime: Invest in Kids soon after being appointed Chief of Police in 2016. His department participated in a book drive to give books to Salt Lake City children to emphasize the importance of reading to being successful in school. He also sat on a panel in the rotunda of the state capitol in 2017 with business leaders and a retired military leaders to discuss how early learning can put Utah kids on a path to productive, crime-free lives.
