Parents are children’s first and most important teachers. However, two-thirds of parents with young children are in the workforce, and need a stimulating environment for their kids. To meet this demand, states have doubled their investments in preschool over the past decade. As policymakers work to improve program quality and access, Council for a Strong America is highlighting the connection between high-quality preschool for at-risk children and a stronger economy, reduced crime, and improved national security.
