A panel of Olympic and Paralympic athletes makes the national case for quality preschool in America

A distinguished panel that included several Olympic and Paralympic gold medalists gathered on Capitol Hill to discuss the importance of high-quality early education for American children at a Champions for America’s Future event on June 15, 2016. The event took place in conjunction with the release of Champion’s report, High-Quality Early Education Can Help Kids Win the Academic Medal Race.

Moderated by Steve Mesler, a gold medalist and Champions member, the panel also included other Olympians and Paralympians such as Gigi Fernandez, Dick Fosbury, April Holmes, Angela Hucles, and Carrie Sheinberg. Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX), a member of the bipartisan Congressional Pre-K Caucus, introduced the event.
