Fight Crime: Invest in Kids 25th Anniversary - 2021 Marked 25 Years of Promoting Proven Programs for Kids

Celebrating 25 years of Fight Crime: Invest in Kids

In June 2021, Fight Crime: Invest in Kids began its 25th anniversary celebration. As part of the celebration, several state and national law enforcement associations as well as state legislatures passed resolutions congratulating Fight Crime: Invest in Kids on our 25th anniversary; several members of Congress, including former Fight Crime: Invest in Kids member Senator Amy Klobuchar, recorded videos celebrating Fight Crime: Invest in Kids’ 25 years, as did current members; Former National District Attorneys President and Council for a Strong America board member Mike Ramos had an article published in the National District Attorneys Association’s The Prosecutor magazine; and we published a series of milestones Fight Crime: Invest in Kids has achieved since its founding in 1996.

In addition, in October, Fight Crime: Invest in Kids released a report and held a press event highlighting the impact Fight Crime: Invest in Kids members had over the past 25 years in the expansion of high-quality pre-K, and how much further we need to go to ensure all disadvantaged children have access to these programs. The event was moderated by Council for a Strong America President and CEO Barry Ford, and it included National Attorneys General Association President and Washington, DC Attorney General Karl Racine, Ingham County Prosecutor Carol Siemon, International Association of Chiefs of Police President and Vail (CO) Police Chief Dwight Henninger, and National Sheriffs’ Association President and Fayette County (OH) Sheriff Vernon Stanforth. The event garnered over a dozen media hits as well as an interview with Sheriff Stanforth on CQ Roll Call’s Equal Time with Mary C. Curtis podcast.
