Evangelical pastors and ministry leaders calling for biblically-based and effective approaches to strengthen families and communities
About Shepherding the Next Generation
Armed with the staff of faith and the Bible, the more than 800 evangelical pastors and ministry leaders who comprise Shepherding the Next Generation care for, defend, and deliver the nation’s most vulnerable children in the name of Jesus.
Our members know that today, millions of American children are growing up in family situations that put them at high risk for long-term poverty, delinquency, teen pregnancy, and addiction. These disadvantaged families are in our churches and in our communities. They are our neighbors.
The Bible commands us to “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22.6). Shepherding the Next Generation’s faith leaders bring proven solutions to the problems affecting disadvantaged children in our communities. Our members also take that faith and experience directly to state and national policymakers to present bipartisan, faith- and research-based solutions to support strong, educated, and moral families.
800+ evangelical pastors and ministry leaders call for:
- Voluntary parent coaching that helps at-risk moms and dads learn essential parenting skills
- Providing access to early childhood education
- Helping troubled teens get back on track through family-based interventions
- Churches that play a major role in advancing solutions to the challenges facing at-risk children
I believe the goal of redeeming children out of poverty touches our Savior’s heart. Shepherding the Next Generation both encourages and equips the church and our nation with proven strategies to impact these children and strengthen families.
